Kathryn deBoer Ipsen

I have spent the last 8 years living and travelling the USA with my husband and daughter as much as we loved ‘The South’ and the people were wonderful, we are now settled well and truly back into the Australian lifestyle and there really is no place like home.

My husband and I now live on the waters at Nords Wharf on the amazing Lake Macquarie. Waking up to views of the Lake every day makes it a very special place and one that I draw much inspiration from when painting and creating my pieces.

I have been teaching painting for over 25 years and it just keeps getting better. Over the years I have taught classes from home, owned a studio space/gallery called ‘Giggly Grape’ in the Hunter Vallely, set up a gorgeous studio in Wilmington North Carolina, hosted stalls from Iandra Castle in Young NSW, and continued to run workshops from various locations in Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

For the past 12 months, I have been studying with Jacqueline Coates and completed a ‘Make money from art’ program. This has now take my art to a whole new level.

I have launched into selling my artwork professionally and have just had my first exhibition at the house in Nords Wharf. I also sell online with Blue Thumb Gallery.
